Congratulations upon your Retirement Miss Hoy. It is hard to believe that we say farewell to someone who as been such a huge part of the school life of Laurencetown for so long. Believe it or not, I was a newly ordained priest just two years when Miss Hoy was appointed the new teacher to St Colman’s Bann Primary school. Unlike Julie. I have sadly aged, while Julie still looks as young as the day she started and both of us have seen a lot of water run under the bridge since those day of the early 90’s. I hope you have big plans for your retirement. I hope you will also take the time to rest and ease up from the work schedule you lived by for 33 years. What ever is in store for you or whatever you have planned to do, enjoy it all. Many thanks Julie for all your time, efforts, love and support that you lavished upon all the new ‘wee angels’ who passed through your classroom in St Colman’s Bann primary school during your time in Laurencetown. May God Bless and reward you with a truly wonderful retirement. God bless you. Fr Des.
