The Day the President came to Banbridge Monday 28th January 2008  Canon Liam Stevenson P.P. Banbridge welcomes everyone to the Parish Centre and gives a short history of the town  Chairman of the Banbridge and District Clergy Group, Ewell Mathews, recounts the various work undertaken by the group since its formation  President McAleese gives an inspiring and encouraging talk on the need for bridge building. She began by saying that bridge building was evident in Banbridge when they (the people) allowed an Armagh man to be their Parish Priest! It gave her particular pleasure to ‘rub Canon Liam’s nose in it’ as Down had won the McKenna Cup the previous night!   The President speaking to the various invited guests  The Banbridge Team!
