Memorial Mass for Fr. Joseph Monaghan Banbridge
Archbishop Eamon Martin will preside at a Mass in memory of Fr Joseph Monaghan being celebrated
in St Patrick’s Church, Banbridge
on Sunday 31st August at 3pm.
Fr Monaghan was a native of Scarva Street, Banbridge. He became a Columban priest and a missionary in the Philippines.
He was killed in 1945, while being held captive by Japanese forces in Manila.

This occasion has been planned to recall and honour his life, his service and his sacrifice, in the eightieth anniversary year of his death. Any Tullylish parishioner interested in Fr Monaghan’s story would be warmly welcome to the Mass.
