Baton of Hope PDF Print E-mail

The Baton of Hope is coming to Banbridge, and we’d love your support to make it something really special for the community.

Baton of Hope

If you haven’t heard of it before, the Baton of Hope is a powerful GB and NI initiative that aims to raise awareness around suicide prevention and mental health. It’s all about opening up conversations, supporting those who are struggling, and remembering those we’ve lost – with the goal of bringing real, lasting change.

The Baton will arrive in Banbridge at around 4:00 pm on September 3rd, where it will be met at the Newry Street roundabout. From there, it will be carried by families who have been bereaved by suicide, survivors, members of the emergency services, and people working in mental health, through the town and onwards to Havelock Park on Lurgan Road.

We’re inviting schools, local groups, sports clubs, businesses, and individuals to come out and line Newry Street, walk alongside the Baton, and show their support. It’s a simple but powerful way to say that suicide is everyone’s business and that together, not alone, there is hope.

At Havelock Park, there’ll be intercommunity sports activities and a charity market, with local community and voluntary organisations on hand to share advice, resources, and support. It’s going to be a meaningful and inclusive event, and we hope you’ll join us.

Please help us spread the word within your group or organisation, and consider getting involved however you can.

For more info and updates, keep an eye on the Baton of Hope Newry Facebook page, or drop us a line at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Final details will be confirmed very soon.

Thanks so much for your time. We hope to see you there.

Warm regards,
Team Baton of Hope
