I am very interested in obtaining a copy of the history of the The
Clare which is referred to as a link from your website pages, but which is
showing as an unavailable page. I understand that this history was
written by a Mr Plunkett Campbell and will be of great interest to my
husband Brian Campbell, whose family had a farm at the Clare.
Yours sincerely
Paul Campbell

Hi,
I'm trying to trace the whereabouts of ancestors who lived in
Tullylish. MY GGG-Grandfather was called John Keenan his wife was Ann (nee)
Lindsay . His children were Thomas,William and Ellen. Thomas married
Cecilia (nee) Mc Caffrey in St.Johns in Guilford around 1852 . In 1854 they
both left to go to work in the mills in Johnstone, Scotland. I'm
struggling as to what happened to his parents John and Ann. If any one could
shed any light I would very grateful. If any Keenans read this ,please
get in touch it would be great to hear from you. Any info no matter how
small wuold be great .
Thanks,
John Keenan.

Web site is an excellent way to keep in touch. As we will soon have
only one mass in each chapel on Sundays it would be helful if mass times
in other chapels nearby are also posted. The link to the Dromore Diocese
is good but I don't think it's up to date e.g. Father Powell is still
on the Lurgan web site.

I have been looking at the pictures, its just the best website,
some of the people I know and some were very young when I left.
The wedding pictures were beautiful.
It keeps me connected even though I did not go to your church.
I do know Jullianne Gaillard and her brother Armand very well
and of course her late mother.
Marsha

If you would like any of your own photographs

I am from Gilford. I went to school at Craigavon Primary School
and Lou, my brother, lived in Gilford and is buried in Tullylish.
We lived on 4 Stramore Road Gilford. Daddy was policeman years and years ago.
I do love reading about home.
I used to sing in the children’s choir and the adult choir in
Gilford Presbyterian Church and I went to Sunday school there.
(I still have my bible that I got for good attendance - in 1949, I was 4 years old)
Thanks for answering my e-mail.
Marsha.

I am looking forward to the chapel in Gilford being reopened in the
near future. Did you know that the grotto at St. John's was built by a
local Gilford man, the late Mr. Don McCready (Church of Ireland)? Around
1991, with permission from Canon Trainer, Mrs. Sadie Gaillard gave the
financial donation for the grotto to be built in memory of her late
sister Miss Annie Hamill. In May of that year, along with the help of
local parishioners - Mr. Owen Finnegan, Armand Gaillard and the late Martin
Finnegan, Don built the grotto in the chapel yard.
