St. Colman's Bann and Greenwich

St. Colman's Bann and Greenwich

As part of the 25th anniversary of the closing of Gilford Mill, the local primary schools were encouraged to make contact with the schools in Greenwich.

Hi Catherine,
I am delighted to say that I have received a very positive response from USA regarding the mill workers from here who settled in Greenwich USA when they went over to work in the new mill there in the 1880s. Here is the email received this week

Mr. Monaghan,
Thank you for reaching out to our school.  I am the Principal of our Junior-Senior High School.  I am certainly interested in knowing more about how we might be able to create some connections for our children.  I would like to know more about what you propose so that I can approach some of my teachers (likely our history teachers).
Respectfully,
George C. Niesz
7-12 Principal
Greenwich Junior-Senior High School
