Party for Sr.Bernadette

PARTY FOR SR. BERNADETTE

Sr. Bernadette's party was held in the Den on Saturday 21st June 2008 after the 6.00pm Mass.

It was certainly a night of song and craic with great food and wine added for good measure!

John Monaghan proved to be the star of the night as he kept the music going until nearly 11.00pm.

With the help of the song lyrics displayed on 'the big screen'. there were no excuses for anyone not knowing the songs. Oliver Moore originally thought he had a date with Dolly Parton in Belfast, but God is good and his date was re-arranged for the Tuesday night instead! Oliver, Bill Monaghan, Paula Jordan, Pat McEvoy and Sr. Bernadette's sister, Anne, all gave us a solo performance.

Sr. Bernadette herself gave us a couple of songs

Hit songs of the night included 'Big Strong Man', 'The One Road', 'Fields of Athenry' 'Star of the County Down' and dozens more, but 1st prize must go to John Monaghan for his now famous rendition of 'Danny Boy'. It gets funnier every time you hear it.

The beautiful buffet was prepared earlier in the Den by the usual 'gang' of ladies and Fr. Powell very generously provided the wine.

When asked if she enjoyed the parrty, Sr. Bernadette said 'It was perfect'.

You can't get any better than that!!

Don't listen to her, Mairead!

Liz Trainor can't decide what to eat next

By the look on Margaret's face, Liz must be covering all options.

Sr. Bernadette told us how grateful she is for our prayerful support and how she is aware of it every single day of her life.

After singing a song in Sesotho, John told her her diction was perfect but her spelling was atrocious!

Pat McEvoy sings 'A Mother's Love is a Blessing'

What a double act!
